11:17 AM -- Wolf Reintroduction Briefing Ryan Benson

Ryan Benson, Big Game Forever, spoke about the mission of his organization and showed a video about the impact of wolf reintroduction on big game. He also provided a presentation on the consequences of wolf reintroduction. Colorado Parks and Wildlife distributed a fact sheet on wolf management available at http://wildlife.state.co.us/WildlifeSpecies/SpeciesOfConcern/Mammals/Pages/GrayWolf.aspx . Mr. Benson answered questions from the committee concerning the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's approach to wolf management and delisting wolf populations in some states.

Denny Behrens, Colorado Mule Deer Association, answered questions from the committee concerning the number of wolves that have been documented in Colorado.

Mr. Benson continued answering questions about the Mexican Wolf's historic distribution and the number of hybrids in the state.

11:52 AM -- House Bill 12-1314

Representative Sonnenberg, bill sponsor, presented House Bill 12-1314, which creates an exemption to the current requirement that all taxpayers owing severance tax on oil and gas production must file a return with the Department of Revenue (DOR). The committee heard testimony on the bill on March 12, 2012.
