Mr. Larry Friedberg, State Architect, Department of Personnel and Administration, provided an update on the progress of the Capitol Dome Renovation project. Committee members received a packet of information concerning the project, including a cross-sectional diagram of the project, a series of pictures showing the work underway, and a table detailing the project's funding time line (Attachment B). Mr. Friedberg relied on the information in Attachment B to detail the work completed on the project, and the work currently underway. Mr. Friedberg responded to questions regarding the surface finishes that will replace the deteriorated paint in the dome interior, and the factors that have led to deterioration of the dome's cast iron elements.
