Senator Aguilar, chair, called the meeting to order. The committee discussed whether to adopt the Senate or House version of the bill. Draft Conference Committee Report CLSB020.001 (Attachment A) was distributed to the committee. The report amends the rerevised version of the bill.

Representative Summers spoke about the importance of treatment for those who are addicted to drugs. He said that the real way to save lives is to free people from their substance abuse. Senator Aguilar responded to Representative Summers' remarks.

Senator Aguilar briefly explained the compromise that had been reached concerning the bill.
