Senator Carroll, chair, called the conference committee on Senate Bill 11-088 to order. She distributed draft conference committee report CLSB088.001 (Attachment A), and explained that the report adopts the rerevised bill, with amendments. The amendments remove provisions regarding the authority of direct entry midwives to suture perineal tears, and require interested parties to meet and discuss the issue of whether direct entry midwives should be authorized to perform suturing.

Representative Acree asked for clarification of the provisions of the draft conference committee report. Duane Gall, Office of Legislative Legal Services, responded to Representative Acree's questions.
