08:04 AM -- Interim Meeting Schedule

The committee was called to order. A quorum was present. Ms. Kori Donaldson, Legislative Council Staff, presented some possible interim committee meeting dates and explained that the meeting dates were selected based on the Joint Budget Committee's schedule and the statutory deadlines for committee review of certain projects. Discussion ensued regarding possible meeting dates in June, August, September, October, and December. The committee selected the following interim meeting dates, times, and locations:

Wednesday, June 16 at 9:00 a.m. at the State Capitol;
Monday, August 2 at 9:00 a.m. at the Grant Humphreys Mansion;
Wednesday, September 8 at 9:00 a.m. at the State Capitol;
Monday, October 25 at 9:00 a.m. at the State Capitol; and
Wednesday, December 1 through Friday, December 3 at the State Capitol (times to be determined).

Ms. Lisa Esgar, Deputy Director, Governor's Office of State Planning and Budgeting (OSPB), came to the table and told the committee that if it meets on September 8, 2010, it will be meeting before the September economic forecast is released. Committee discussion ensued about the selected September meeting date. The committee decided to meet on September 8. Ms. Esgar offered to present the OSPB capital forecast at the committee's October meeting.

Representative Riesberg explained to the committee that Senate Bill 10-207 concerns the capital construction process and should be considered by the committee. The committee agreed to meet again at 12:15 p.m. to consider Senate Bill 10-207. Mr. Larry Friedberg, State Architect, Department of Personnel and Administration, came to the table to address questions about the bill. Ms. Esgar also returned to the table to discuss the bill.
