09:54 AM -- Senate Bill 09-102

Senator Brophy, commented on Senate Bill 09-102, concerning the lack of employer-sponsored insurance as an eligibility requirement for public medical assistance. He said that many workers in the state choose not to buy a private health insurance policy for their children, due to the fact that the children may be enrolled in the state's children's health insurance plan. He said that his goal with Senate Bill 09-102 was to keep as many people as possible in the private insurance market, however; he asked that the committee postpone Senate Bill 09-102 indefinitely.
