Representative Sonnenberg, prime sponsor of House Bill 09-1133, discussed the merits of the bill. The bill would remove the statutorily set fee amounts for license plates, decals, and validating tabs. The bill would authorize the setting of new fees to recover license plate production costs. Representative Sonnenberg responded to questions from the committee members.

Mr. Klinkerman discussed problems associated with license plate production and aluminum costs. Mr. Klinkerman and Mr. Smith responded to questions from members of the committee. Representative Primavera stated concerns that potential costs could be passed onto citizens.
