Senator Schwartz, bill sponsor, explained the provisions of Senate Bill 09-048 and distributed a handout (Attachment B). She explained that the bill removes the audit provision from the Office of the Child's Representative (OCR).

01:44 PM -- Kerri Hunter, representing the Office of the State Auditor, spoke in support of the bill. She noted that it is a bill from the Legislative Audit Committee. She discussed that OCR is a lower risk audit and that the office has not had any major audit findings since its creation. She noted that the Legislative Audit Committee would still provide oversight through the annual state audit.

01:45 PM -- Theresa Spahn, representing the OCR, spoke in support of the bill. She provided the committee with some historical information concerning the creation of the office.
