Senator Boyd presented Senate Bill 09-223. The bill establishes a new fee for establishments offering food to workers at temporary living quarters in the oil and gas development industry and increases fees paid by other retail food establishments. The bill also makes changes to the Food Protection Act.

Ms. Rudolph discussed the changes made by the bill and asked the committee to support it.

Pete Meersman, the President of the Colorado Restaurant Association, testified in favor of the bill. He discussed negotiations about the bill and the importance of uniformity in inspections. Senator Mitchell commented on Mr. Meersman's testimony.
