Leonel Silva, who is being reappointed to the Fort Lewis College Board of Trustees, introduced himself to the committee and described his interest in serving on the board.

Karen Wilde, who is being appointed to fill a vacancy on the board, introduced herself to the committee and described her interest in serving on the board. Ms. Wilde talked about the mission of the college in serving Native American students.

Mark Larson, appointee to the board, introduced himself. He said he carried the bill that made Fort Lewis an independent college, and explained that several members of his family graduated from Fort Lewis. He talked about the challenges faced by the institution.

The Governor's letter appointing the appointees to the board is contained in Attachment B. Their applications and resumes may be viewed at the State Archives.

The appointees responded to committee questions and comments.
