Representative McFadyen, explained that House Bill 09-1002 makes several clarifying amendments to statutory provisions related to the duties and powers of the Colorado Lottery Commission and the State Lottery Division (Department of Revenue). Representative McFadyen continued by noting that currently, the sale of memorabilia and other promotional items by the Colorado Lottery is prohibited. The bill authorizes the director of the State Lottery Division to sell memorabilia or other promotional items, such as hats and t-shirts. Representative McFadyen closed by saying that proceeds from the sale of memorabilia will be credited to the State Lottery Fund. Staff distributed a handout on the Administrative Organization Act of 1968 (Attachment A).
