CONCERNING THE RENAMING OF A PORTION OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 70 AS THE "PRESIDENT GERALD FORD MEMORIAL HIGHWAY". WHEREAS, The General Assembly passed Senate Joint Memorial 07-001 memorializing former President Gerald Ford; and WHEREAS, Senate Joint Memorial 07-001 addresses the accomplishments of President Ford, including his link to Colorado for decades through his love of the Vail Valley, which brought worldwide recognition to the area; now, therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-sixth General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein: (1) That the portion of Interstate Highway 70 that runs through Eagle County be renamed the "President Gerald Ford Memorial Highway". (2) That the Colorado Department of Transportation may accept and expend gifts, grants, donations, and federal funds for the purposes of the initial placement of signs to mark the designated portion of Interstate Highway 70 as the "President Gerald Ford Memorial Highway". (3) That the Colorado Department of Transportation may explore a cooperative agreement with the Board of County Commissioners of Eagle County for the maintenance of the markings for the "President Gerald Ford Memorial Highway". Be It Further Resolved, That copies of this Joint Resolution be sent to his wife, Mrs Betty Ford; the President of the United States, George W. Bush; the United States Secretary of Transportation, Mary E. Peters; each member of Colorado's congressional delegation; the Gerald R.
