11:38 AM -- Adams State College FY 2007-08 Capital Construction Requests
Mr. Bill Mansheim, Vice President of Finance and Administration, and Mr. Todd Wright, Facilities Planner, Adams State College, presented three FY 2007-08 capital construction requests. Mr. Mansheim provided background on the college and its community, and updated the committee on recently funded capital projects. Mr. Mansheim provided an overview of the Plachy Hall Addition and Renovation request and discussed the need for the project. Mr. Mansheim clarified the status of Plachy as a stand-alone project, as opposed to a multi-phase project.

Mr. Mansheim next briefed the committee on the Information Technology and Security Plan Update project. Ms. Jennifer Moe, Legislative Council Staff, clarified the discrepancy between CCHE's priority numbers and the priority numbers listed on the project overviews prepared by Legislative Council Staff. Mr. Mansheim then discussed the Richardson Hall Renovation project. Mr. Mansheim responded to questions regarding efforts on the part of Adams State to secure non-state funding for capital construction projects.

Discussion continued regarding alternative sources for funding capital construction, particularly with regard to the Richardson Hall project. Discussion followed regarding economic conditions in the San Luis Valley and efforts to raise private funding for Adams State.
