Move to adopt Bill 1. The motion passed 9-0.PASS

10:10 AM -- Bill 1

Kristen Forrestal, Office of Legislative Legal Services, presented Bill 1 concerning medication therapy management (Attachment C). She explained that last year the task force established the Prescription Drug Information and Technical Assistance Program within the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) to provide advice about prescription drugs to Medicaid clients. HCPF administers the program and provides payments to pharmacists and physicians who consult with Medicaid clients about how to avoid dangerous drug interactions, improve outcomes, and save money. Bill A extends the current program to include all programs administered by the HCPF. Representative Riesberg requested there be no safety clause on the bill.

10:15 AM

Brad Young, Governmental Affairs Director for RxPlus Pharmacies, testified in favor of the bill and talked about a similar program that has been in effect for two years in Wyoming.
