Your first conference committee appointed on SB00-177, concerning changes in the operation of the state hazardous waste control program, and, in connection therewith, adjusting the funding for such program and providing statutory goals for the operation of the program, has met and reports that it has agreed upon the following:
That the Senate accede to the House amendments made to the bill, as the amendments appear in the rerevised bill, with the following changes:
Amend rerevised bill, page 3, line 13, strike "Improves" and substitute "Protects";
line 14, strike "residents." and substitute "residents as required by
other provisions of this part 3 and rules promulgated in connection therewith.".

We herewith transmit without comment, as amended, HB00-1492.

INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTIONS
The following resolutions were read by title and laid over one day under the rules:
HJR00-1055 by Representatives Lawrence, Alexander, Chavez; also Senators Blickensderfer, Powers, Feeley--Concerning the retention of officers and employees of the second regular session of the sixty-second general assembly.
Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-second General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein:
(1) That the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives and the Secretary of the Senate remain in such capacity after adjournment of the General Assembly sine die until the convening of the First Regular Session of the Sixty-third General Assembly on January 10, 2001.
(2) That the Chairman of the House Services Committee, with the authorization of the Speaker, and the Chairman of the Senate Services Committee, with the authorization of the President, are hereby separately authorized to retain such employees for such period of time in the interim between the Second Regular Session of the Sixty-second General Assembly and the First Regular Session of the Sixty-third General Assembly as they deem necessary for their respective houses; except that the office equipment of the General Assembly and the services of such employees shall be used only in connection with official legislative business.
(3) That the officers named in subsection (1) of this resolution and the employees referred to in subsection (2) of this resolution shall be compensated for their service at the same rate paid to them during the Second Regular Session of the Sixty-second General Assembly, as may be modified by any salary survey adjustments to become effective during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, which are approved by the Speaker of the House of Representatives for officers and employees of the House of Representatives and by the President of the Senate for officers and employees of the Senate. All such compensation shall be paid from moneys appropriated for such purposes by the Sixty-second General Assembly._________
HJR00-1056 by Representatives Dean, George, Gordon; also Senators Blickensderfer, Powers, Feeley--Concerning the adjournment sine die of the Second Regular Session of the Sixty-second General Assembly.
Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-second General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein:
That when the Second Regular Session of the Sixty-second General Assembly adjourns on May 3, 2000, it shall stand adjourned sine die._________
HJR00-1057 by Representatives Dean, George, Gordon; also Senators Blickensderfer, Powers, Feeley--Concerning the appointment of a joint committee to notify the Governor that the second regular session of the sixty-second general assembly has completed its work and is ready to adjourn sine die.
Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-second General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein:
That a joint committee of five members, consisting of three members of the House of Representatives and two members of the Senate, be appointed, respectively, by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the Senate to notify the Honorable Bill Owens, Governor of the State of Colorado, that the Second Regular Session of the Sixty-second General Assembly is about to adjourn SINE DIE and to inquire if he has any communication to convey to the General Assembly in Joint Session._______________
